Explore the world of AI-enhanced writing! Learn how to use a host of generative AI (genAI) tools to craft both personal and workplace writing. You’ll gain a solid understanding of genAI fundamentals and become skilled at using varied genAI tools. Additionally, you will develop critical AI literacy around the ethical use of AI tools and issues related to privacy and intellectual copyright.
Modules take a writing studies approach to instruction, emphasizing audience, human/machine collaboration, recursive writing practices, style, and voice, while also teaching foundational genAI skills such as prompt engineering and iteration.
To complete the microcredential and earn a digital badge, you must demonstrate 80% mastery of course content, including knowledge of AI writing concepts and critical AI literacy through activities such as quizzes, applied writing tasks, and reflections. Each course’s content, including instructor videos and learning activities, requires 15-20 hours to complete.
Complete the following courses in succession:
- ENGL 312 Writing with AI: Fundamentals of Generative AI Literacy (1 credit)
- ENGL 412 Writing with AI: Intermediate Generative AI Skills (1 credit)
- ENGL 512 Writing Creatively and Collaboratively with AI (1 credit)
