Build your skills for effective bilingual (Spanish-English) communication in healthcare settings, with a focus on vocabulary, structures, and cultural dimensions relevant to U.S. Latinx contexts. You will apply these skills in practical scenarios, ensuring your written and spoken expression is clear and understandable to native speakers of both languages.
The Spanish Basic Translation and Health Services microcredential covers key aspects of healthcare communication, including professional practices and continuing education resources. Learners will complete content and projects through online or in-person courses in professional Spanish and Spanish translation. Skill mastery must be demonstrated in each course by earning 80% on assignments and activities.
Complete the following courses:
- SPAN 531 – Professional Spanish: Health and Human Services (3 credits)
- SPAN 575 – Introduction to Spanish Translation (3 credits)
