College of Education

Description:

Discover how to effectively integrate structured literacy and explicit writing instruction into your K-12 classroom. Gain insights into how writing integrates with literacy curricula using frameworks such as Scarborough’s Reading Rope and Sedita’s Writing Rope. The Science of Literacy microcredential is designed for K-12 educators, literacy coaches, and curriculum developers to enhance their instructional practices in literacy and writing. You will complete practical assignments, objective assessments, and a capstone project designing a comprehensive writing lesson plan. Learning content requires approximately 12 hours to complete. To successfully earn the microcredential badge, you must achieve at least 80% of the point value on assignments.
