Promoting Emotional Well-Being Through Applied Support Skills for Veterinary Students

Description
Building on key information and skills covered in “Foundations of Emotional Well-Being and Support Skills for Veterinary Students,” this microcredential will provide students with the opportunity to:
- Apply learned helping skills when interacting with peers
- Implement personal communication and helping skills that support well-being through interactions
- Practice effective strategies for referring a peer to more specialized assistance (in-house counselors)
Students will meet every other week in small groups to discuss interactions and strategies for effectively applying learned helping skills. To successfully complete the microcredential and earn a digital badge, students must achieve a minimum attendance and participation of 85% of scheduled meetings/activities.
Only students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Kansas State University are eligible and must be pre-approved. Questions should be directed to Dr. Adryanna Drake.
