Military History Graduate Microcredential

College of Arts and Sciences

Description:

Today’s rapidly changing security environment makes understanding the history of warfare more important than ever. Combining the history of military operations with cultural, social and political history, the Military History microcredential provides a graduate education in the development of modern warfare, including how war has been fought, its effects, and the diverse roles that people play in war.

This microcredential allows MA and PhD students to establish and advertise expertise in military history that is useful in applying for university, community college, and high school history teaching jobs. It shows regional expertise, which is valued by government agencies, and provides an on-ramp to MA and PhD programs in the History Department and related fields.
