Description

The Integrating Experiential Global Education microcredential equips faculty, instructors, and academic professionals with essential skills in applied learning design for education abroad programs. You will learn to create high-impact learning experiences, integrate authentic applied learning principles, and apply critical reflection strategies to deepen student outcomes. Through case studies, scenario-based activities, and a self-guided workbook, you’ll explore real-world applications of experiential learning, program design, and reflective practice. You will analyze previous education abroad trips, develop strategies for sustaining authentic experiences, and incorporate required modules into Canvas courses for ALE tagging.

The content requires approximately 25–30 hours to complete, which includes five in-person sessions. You must demonstrate satisfactory to exceptional mastery of assignments and activities to earn a digital badge, which showcases verified competencies and a commitment to impactful, globally engaged education.

Earner recognizes effective global learning and integrates it into student development. They follow best practices and plan strategies for mentoring students during their international experiences. Earner applies techniques that will assist the faculty to build upon existing activities and structures. They formalize and enhance the educational value of global experiences to support students' growth.
