Grant Development and Management
K-State Research and Extension
Description
The Grant Development and Management microcredential provides practical training in advanced grant proposal development for professionals, students and community organizations. You will gain hands-on experience reviewing funding announcements, writing compelling need statements, developing SMART objectives, designing project and evaluation plans and preparing draft grant proposals. The course strengthens essential skills in project planning, program design, evaluation, budgeting, and professional communication to help you create competitive, fundable proposals across nonprofit, education, health and community settings.
This microcredential is the second course in a two-microcredential sequence that leads to the Grant Writing & Development Achievement Badge. Building on the foundational skills developed in Grant Writing Basics, this course deepens your ability to analyze funder priorities, align project strategies with funding requirements and manage full-cycle grant development responsibilities. Upon successful completion of this microcredential and Grant Writing Basics, the Achievement Badge is automatically issued—no additional steps are required.
You will leave prepared to support or lead grant development efforts, contribute to organizational funding strategies, and strengthen the capacity of agencies and institutions seeking external resources to advance programs, services, and community impact.
